At Grayson Matthews, Creative Directors Dave Sorbara and Tom Westin lead a team of eight composers, sound designers and engineers. Sharing a passion for music and a spirit of collaboration, this ever-evolving creative team approaches every project as a collective, working together to achieve the best possible results. With a depth of entirely in-house talent, Grayson maintains a standard of excellence unrivalled in the industry.
Music Supervision & Licensing
Music Supervisor Chris Corless brings a wealth of music industry experience to Grayson Matthews. Starting as a drummer in a punk rock band in the mid 90’s, Chris helped found and shape independent record label Underground Operations in 2000 (Lights, Protest the Hero), building the company from the ground up and seeing through a partnership with Universal Music. In 2004, Chris joined Universal Music Publishing (UMPG) as Creative Manager where he worked with platinum artists Sam Roberts, Hedley and k os. During his time there, Chris also worked heavily in the sync world, placing songs from the UMPG catalogue in commercials, video games, film and television. In 2007 he began a joint role with UMPG and Universal Music Canada as an A&R representative where he signed, developed, and worked with artists such as Juno nominated Down With Webster and Tokyo Police Club.
Today, Chris continues his search to discover new, emerging talent and build his ever-growing knowledge of the best music out there. Always looking to connect ideas with sound - he can help you find and license the perfect track for your next project.
Dialogue Direction
Karen Goora is Grayson Matthews' in-house Dialogue Director. Prior to joining Grayson, Karen was Creative Director of Casting at Disney. She now applies that wealth of knowledge and experience to every spot she directs. Karen has worked on dozens of Emmy, Gemini & Academy Award winning projects and has directed a long list of celebrity performers.
Casting
Grayson Matthews' casting department is the most experienced and unrivalled facility of its kind in Canada. With casting done entirely in-house, the department offers clients a unique and fresh approach by maintaining creative control and seeking out new talent through open-mic sessions. And because all Grayson casting is closely supervised by Karen Goora, a big picture approach is taken to meet the client's vision creatively and more efficiently.
